I have always loved reading; I remember going to the library as a child and devouring book after book after book. Even the sound of the plastic cover crinkling as you open it makes me feel so warm and fuzzy inside.
Eventually I decided to become an English teacher, as I thought this would be the PERFECT path for a book lover like me. I knew I wanted to pour love into my students and get them as excited as I always was as a reader. Since I majored in English, I spent a LOT of time with heavy texts…deep discussions over these texts opened my mind to the beautiful world of words and how intricately they are put together. But…during and after college, I stopped reading as much as I did before. I kept collecting books on my bookshelf that I “planned” to read, but I didn’t make the time for it. I always wondered why I didn’t continue reading until one day I heard a Podcast episode from Read Aloud Revival. It featured an English professor who discussed how students who major in arts degrees end up reading so much content heavy material that they don’t continue reading for pleasure. THIS was the reason I had stopped reading for enjoyment. This was why I had given up on pleasurable reading.
So, years later, I finally decided to really pick up reading again and focus on all of the books on my bookshelf. As I read, I couldn’t help but write down the quotes that inspired me or really made me think (like we had learned how to do in college). Eventually, I decided to turn this love of writing and books into a Book Blog called BriBee’s Book Buzz.

However, I knew there was something more I wanted to do. I knew that I wanted to discuss these books with others and have intelligent conversations over the texts. And that, my friends, is where the idea of a Book Club started. I wanted to share my love of books with friends and have incredible conversations!
So…I started a beta test book club last week and had an AMAZING time with my book loving friends! We had incredible conversations and I truly enjoyed it. I only wish I had started it sooner!!With that said, are you looking to connect with like minded friends over a love of books and brews? I help women who are looking to make connections by encouraging a conversation around a love of books and brews in order to make new friends and expand their thinking!
I promise that it will be worth it and I PROMISE you will have SO much fun!!! And don’t worry — it’s only an hour twice a month, so you will get time to enjoy yourself away from the pressures and busyness of life. We will meet during the workweek or during the weekend, depending on what works for your schedule, twice a month. Each session will last 1 hour to 1 hour and a half!
Wondering if it’s the right fit for you?
You’re a woman who yearns for a sense of belonging, stronger friendships, and connections with others; an engaging conversation keeps you on your toes and invigorates you. You may work from home or have a career that doesn’t always provide time to chat with other adults or you’re unable to find the right people you jive with at work. You enjoy a good book and like to read for fun when you’re able to make time for yourself, but sometimes it’s hard to get it on the calendar. Drinking in a nice cold beer, a fine wine, or mixed drink is a great way to uplift your day, especially with friends.
You wish that there were more hours in the day, just so you could have the chance to relax. You wish it was easier for you to find a group of women you can connect with, enjoy a good book and a beer with, and chat about life (especially since you get very excited to talk and listen with others). You wish that you could have more accountability to stay in contact with friends and to finally read the books on your shelf that have been left unread.
And then you discover a book club called, ‘Badass Book Besties.’ You think, “Damn, that’s a catchy name, I wonder what it’s about?” It was created by a woman named Brianna who thoroughly enjoys spending time with others, analyzing how books and words impact us, and who believes in the power of conversation & connection. You learn that it focuses on women who love to read, drink beer/alcohol, and you are instantly smitten. Members also get a say in what books are read every month; members also vote on which book is going to be read, which helps you feel in control of what is being read! Sessions are only an hour, and who doesn’t want solid time to just hang with the girls?!
THIS is what you have been looking for!
Join the Book Club and be ready to form badass friendships with other women, just like you. Avoid the feeling of being lonely or left out…tackle that huge pile of books waiting to read…and be the BEST version of yourself that you’ve been waiting to be.
If you’re looking to make connections with other women around a love of books and brews, if you’re wanting to expand your thinking, AND make new friends while you’re at it, then let’s go! You’ll leave feeling inspired, refreshed, and happier! You’ll expand that friends list, have engaging conversation, be well-read, and learn more about yourself & the world around you…all while enjoying a nice cold adult beverage. Cheers!
