Let’s talk about the 30 second rule – when you first meet people, find ways to make them look good, versus yourself, especially in those first moments. First impressions can make or break a relationship sometimes!
You can continue this process with the people you interact with. Think about something positive or encouraging you can tell them. Thank them for something special they’ve done recently. Express your excitement over something fantastic they’ve been able to achieve. Tell them how badass you think they are for just being them! Whatever you decide, make sure to be genuine in what you say; giving a compliment is great, but only when it’s true and meaningful.
Today, take 30 seconds with each person you meet and add something of value to the conversation. Work from home or don’t interact with others regularly? The same can be done on the phone, email, or even text.
